How would you describe your experience so far?
Previously, I worked for a Building Contractor and I’m enjoying my time training and working as a Design Consultant. Since joining in 2023, I have worked on a various projects within the defence, residential and commercial sectors. I have been exposed to a variety of different work including thermal and energy modelling within IES. I hope I can develop these skills in the upcoming years.

The company always has a promising number of projects to work on and I feel that I can reach out to any Senior Engineer for help and guidance. I’m also enjoying working on different projects within a range of industries.
Stuart Davidson
Senior Electrical Engineer
What is your role?
I joined ACTS in late 2025, I came on board as a senior engineer, but my background has been more operations and installations. My role since coming in is assisting the junior team progressing their designs and help mentor along with other senior/associates. I help project manage the workload, carry out necessary surveys and get involved with designing across all projects.
How would you describe your experience so far?
I would describe my experience so far as eye opening, coming from the other side where I would normally implement the designs, I now get to see it from this side and have a new appreciation as to what is involved in putting these projects together, I can also benefit our junior engineers with the experience I have gained with managing these projects when carrying out there designs from a contractors point of view. I am also learning new skills I wouldn’t normally get the chance too with designing projects.
What would you say is the best thing about the company?
The best thing about working for ACTS is that it feels like there is plenty of opportunity for the guys to go as far they want. The chance to get out what they are willing to put in is evident to see. There is an element of the company pushing all its staff to bring out the best in themselves and progress professionally and personally.

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, my role involves designing and developing mechanical systems for a wide range of projects across various sectors, including commercial, residential, and industrial. I take projects from the initial concept stage through to detailed design, ensuring that each system is efficient, reliable, and tailored to the specific needs of the client. Additionally, I am a qualified Energy Assessor, which allows me to integrate energy-efficient solutions into every project I work on, optimising performance and supporting sustainability targets.

My experience as a Mechanical Engineer has been incredibly fulfilling. I’ve had the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, which has allowed me to develop a broad skill set. I am highly competent in using Revit to model detailed designs and coordinate intricate and space-constrained mechanical systems, such as plant rooms, ensuring the efficient integration of all systems. I also use tools like IESVE to optimise energy performance in my designs and ensure compliance with regulations. Overall, it’s been a great blend of technical challenges, collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, and delivering efficient, well-coordinated designs.

Lennon Bulloch
BIM/REVIT Technician
What is your role?
I joined ACTS in 2025 shortly after graduating in Architectural Design, taking on the role of Revit Technician. My day-to-day work involves modelling electrical and mechanical elements in both 3D and 2D, managing data within the BIM environment, and supporting colleagues who need help with Revit or AutoCAD. I also work closely with the wider team to communicate model updates and changes, making sure everyone is working with the most up-to-date information.
How would you describe your experience so far?
My experience so far has been really positive. There have definitely been challenging moments, but those are the ones that have helped me grow the most and improve my problem-solving skills. Having a good skillset with Revit and AutoCAD made the transition into modelling mechanical and electrical systems much smoother. Over the past year I’ve learned a huge amount, largely thanks to the team here, who are always supportive, patient, and willing to share their knowledge.
What would you say is the best thing about the company?
One of the best things about working at ACTS is the shared drive to do things well. There’s a genuine focus on quality, but also on finding smarter and more efficient ways to work. The variety of projects keeps the role engaging, and each new challenge brings opportunities to develop further.
