Bute Housing Association

This project was sponsored by Bute Housing Association a social housing
provider in Campbelltown, Argyle.
The project comprised fabric and services upgrades to the existing stock of
BISF and weir type semi detached houses together with removal of asbestos
bearing materials.
ACTS provided the design and specification of new LTHW heating services, for
each house type. Also included were upgrades to gas and domestic water services.
The new gas fired heating and hot water services was provided by efficiency gas
fired combination boilers, with locally thermostatically controlled steel panel radiators
in all rooms.

West Whitlawburn Housing

WWHC are a major provider of social housing located in South Lanarkshire. They town and maintain both low rise and high rise accommodation. To extend the life of their high rise provision a phased programme of overcladding of six twelve storey accommodation blocks was undertaken. The overcladding system provided additional weather proofing and sustainability improved the thermal properties of the 1970’s concrete panel structure.
Internal Refurbishment also included amalgamation of flats to provide longer accommodation. ACTS provided design specification and inspection services for new Electrical Systems including electric heating, new kitchen and toilet ventilation.

Conway Street - Liverpool

Lakeside - Manchester

The Lakeside, Manchester project consisted of the renovation of 4No. 12 storey
tower blocks, 30No. townhouses and a residents gym.
ACTS Partnership Ltd were appointed by the Client to undertake the detailed
design of the M&E services within each flat & townhouse, landlord services and
resident gym. Each dwelling contained electrical panel heaters, an electric immersion hot water storage calorifer, general power and lighting.
The residents gym included air conditioning, a sauna & steam room and a hot tub.

Ferry Road - Partick

ACTS Partnership Ltd were appointed by the design build contractor to carry out the
detailed design of the district heating system and landlord services for 4No. residential blocks, containing a total of 87 flats. The development offers social housing and private lets. The development is served by a gas fired district heating system, CHP plant and central storage of domestic hot and cold water.
The CHP plant is classed as a low carbon technology. The gas fired CHP plant was optimised to serve all landlord heating requirements. The generated electricity is used directly at source to offset the landlords electric power demand (i.e. for communal lighting & lifts).
